The Feat are a new band from Chicago featuring members who have been around for…..well…ever. This record is 20ish years in the making. We first met bassist Justin on the Viva La Vinyl message board as the label was first starting. He runs Forge Again Records, and we did a BUNCH of trades to get the webstore off the ground. We booked Towers/met Craig in 2005 and 2007. The “alarm clock” trick in 2007 still blows my mind. And I stand by that his .elder. might be better than Elder……I said it. Anyways, we teamed up with 5 other labels to make this record a reality cause it’s that good!! Listen to the first track on bandcamp now, order in the webstore, out in October….yeah!
You might say that Chicago’s THE FEAT have been plotting and planning their debut LP for years. Craig Woods (Towers, Peter and Craig), Justin Wexler (Stillwell, Engines), and Matt Vicars (Ghost Towns, Sore History) have created a sound that exists somewhere within their shared collective experience of independent and punk music. Existing somewhere in the venn diagram of mixed bill shows at the Fireside Bowl in the 90s, years of touring and playing basements across the country, and old well-concealed cash mailorders from Ebullition and No Idea, you’ll find all of these influences have come together to create their debut LP, SCHEMES FOR DECADES. Hard to categorize, but easy to recognize.
